Radiator leaked at 140K - it this a known problem? 850

By 140K miles, I've done pretty much everything that can be done on a Volvo 850 and what is covered on this board.
Now the radiator is leaking. The failure is easyly visible - one of the plastic side tanks of a radiator developed a crack. It looks like it got "inflated", popped, as if from high pressure. I already bough a new radiator, studied bay 13, and will replace it this weekend.
My question is - are the radiators known to fail on these cars or this is something with my cooling system? Perhaps it builds up very high pressure?
I like the card and forgive it a lot, but this year I got physically tires fixing it. Timing belt, water pump, front and side engine mounts, many small repairs, and now this...
