Reliability XC90

Hi,

I am helping my mother choose an SUV and the XC90 is at the top of my list for her. I am a huge fan of Volvo, particularly for their safety especially after being in an 850 that saved my life. As of now the decision seems to be between the XC90 and the Toyota Highlander. I know that Toyota's are rock solid for their reliability, have been scoring well in the crash tests, is a comfortable SUV, and it is less expensive then the Volvo. One of main things that is favoring the Toyota over the Volvo is the reliability. I have heard several stories of relaibility propblems with the S80 and rumors of poor reliability with the rest of the volvo line-up over teh past several of years. Publications such as Consumer Reports supports these stories where the Volvos have scored poorly in reliability in recent years.

I know the XC90 is the newest platform that Volvo has released and I am hoping they have been working on the relaibility issues. I am hoping to get feedback from people regarding their experiences with the XC90 so far and if the reliability issues have been ironed out for the most part. Thank you,

Christopher
