Hot caliper/ok now..? 850

My 95 850 was smokin like NASCAR when i parked at work this morning. Major sieze up of the left fron caliper it seemed. I nevertheless decided to try and get it home. The return trip showed no signs of a problem. The caliper was not hotter than the other side and the rotor that was gunmetal blue looked clean again!! Question is-Can this car be considered reliable? Is this going to come back? And in a general sense--why does volvo have such a problem with this?--my other cars can sit a few days--as this one did--without the calipers goin south. TIA Homer
