Front end part replacement at 100,000 miles? 850 1996

My son has an 850 that I want to help him put a new steering rack in that is leaking. I have worked very little on that 850 for him (I have 740 and 940). With 100,000 miles, if I find no play in the joints with it on stands should I leave it be, or consider new tie rod ends, ball joints and radius rod bushings because they are nearing the end of their life?

P.S. Is the rack as easy to change as on the 940?

Thanks,

Gary
