The price you were quoted is right in line though more than any one of us would be comfortable with.Those who paid $1000.00 probably had there's installed at an Independant shop being a dealer only part it's necessary for them to mark up the price ( they gotta eat to ya know) on top of the price an Independant has to have the car towed to the dealer to have software loaded so that the Engine Management System will recognize the new throttle unit.Nuts Eh!! As for Timing Belt/Tentioner It's one of though's It's not that hard if you know how jobs.Make sure the shop is reputible,or to make my self comfortable I would have it done at the local dealer as recourse is usualy easier if somthing goes wrong.While your at it have the fan belt changed there should be no additional labor as it has to be removed when changing the T Belt anyway.
