Oil leak and the flame trap 850 1997

OK, the oil use has NOT stopped. If the leak is from the rear main seal, I should see oil on the right side of the engine (with me standing in front, facing the rear of the car). If that end is dry, and the oil wet end is the left side, does that mean the crank and cam seals might have failed? What else could have failed?

When I replaced the flame trap, I did not check the tubes that connect to the trap holder. Do they clog, and replacing the trap would have no effect? How do I clean them out? What type of rubber hose can I get from the local parts store if the rubber hoses need to be replaced? I did verify that the larger of the rubber hoses connection to the trap holder was ok, but the smaller one seemed to be damaged.

Thanks,
Stuart
