Intermittant start problems, frustrating 850 1995

I've used coke and a wire brush than cleaned on the ground then cleaned it all off. You way was probably safer and better.

I've had to do that every 6 or 8 months or so. I haven't had the weird electrical stuff with the doors locking etc since.

Sometimes just running it through the gears with the key on...maybe press the PNP switch once. Usually works. Sometimes I've suspected the anti-theft device as a possible culprit. PNP switch was replaced under warranty with an improved model. I am guessing yours was too. I haven't heard that they go again after the initial replacement. The original PNP was faulty. PNP switch is near gear shifter on automatic trans...in right corner.
