Fuel System 850 1996

I have a 850GLT '96 Wagon. When I start the car in the morning I smell gasoline for about 20 to 30 seconds and then goes away. I had it diagnosed and what comes up is the following, under Fuel System:

System 1 (fault) Closed Loop
System 2 Not used

Now, I've noticed that there are 2 valves 1 before and 1 after the gasoline filter, the 1 after the gasoline filter appears to be a vacuum, but the other is not doing anything. Could that be the problem?

Can anyone provide me with some help?
