replace rear calipers? 850 1997

About 3K ago I replaced the rear pads and rotors. Recently I've heard a loud rattle coming from the back. My corner garage says that one of the pistons is loose in one of the rear calipers, and recommends replacing both. They want 170 per caliper and 50-100 for labor, bringing the fix to $450.

Does this sound like the right diagnosis? If so, seems I can do it myself and save $$$ on parts. Would you recommend changing both calipers or rebuilding them??

Thanks.
