Bevel Gear Problem V70-XC70 2000

I took my car in for routine maintenance and was told there was a slight fluid leak from the bevel gear and $260 to replace the seal. I then, for reasons that are too frustrating to list, had to take my Volvo to my original dealer for another service. I noted what the 1st dealer told me about the bevel gear and was going to have my dealer (where I bought the car) replace it. They just called and said that the bevel gear is "wet" and they can't tell which seal could be leaking so they should replace all of them to the tune of $600. I just bought this used 2000 Volvo V70 in April. None of this was noted during the warranty period and now this is all on me. Do I need to have these repairs done immediately? What are my risks? Any advice would be appreciated.
