2nd car wagon.... 240 or 740? 850 1995

I presently own a 1995 854 GLT with 140k on her but would like to get a second car since we just adopted a little girl and need more room. The 850 has been great other than the big ticket trans repair but I want to buy either a 240 or 740 wagon. Can anybody lean me one way or the other? I think I have read on this board before that the 740's go forever with minimal down time.
