compressor not kicking on 850 1997

You can try putting a jumper (briefly) into the low pressure switch connector, and then trying to turn on the A/C. If the compressor engages, immediately shut it off. You will have just learned that the low pressure sensor was doing its job and protecting the compressor from being damaged by running with low refrigerant and lubricant. The system will have to be recharged, and leak tested. If it does not kick in with the bypass in place (and you have checked the fuses), you'll need further help. Good luck.
