What else to check I need a eureka V70-XC70

Hi
I just purchased at a low price a 98 V70 2.4 Turbo wagon with 160,000 miles. It has oil in the coolant and also consumed coolant. During the 250 mile drive home I had a low coolant alarm twice and had to add some to get home. The back window had an oily film on it that I assumed was antifreeze.

I have pulled the head after a few days of getting parts off the turbo was very tough but it finally came off.

The head gasket has no major visible flaws but the pistons all seem to have little carbon build up like they have been exposed to water. I will replace the head gasket and start to put it back together. I will check head for warps etc. Is there anything else I should look at while it is apart. I will also put in a new radiator. A radiator flaw would explain the oil in the water but not the coolant consumption.

Discouraged at complexity and lack of eureka I have found it. Steve in Maine

Anybody want to trade a V70 for a 940?
