A/C blower problems on car with ACC 850 1995

I recently bought a '95 850 GLT Wagon. First of all, I really like this car. I did have to clean the rear passenger door window switch, and I had to fix the drivers seat back cable. Those items work fine now.
Today, the blower fan stoped. It would work again after I stopped and restarted the car. When working, the A/C blows very cold, comfortable air. When the blower stops, the A/C still seems to work, just now blower fan. Once I stop are restart the car, it works again. This car has ACC. When the unit will not blow, there is NO response from the fan speed switch. When working, the speed switch works fine.
I have read everything I can find on this board, and other Volvo sites. From what I have read, I believe I have a bad "resistor pack." This item has also been refered to as a "power module."
I have replaced the resistor pack in my '97 850 with manual climate control. Is the replacement the same for the ACC (with the exception of a different part?) Where do you suggest I buy the new part from? Is it available from online parts places or a dealer only part?
When the blower is working, I do not hear any strange noise, or anything to indicate that the blower motor is bad. The motor on my '97 850 is going bad, and makes noise like a cage full of angry rats (that's my wife's statment.)
I have never been able to get trouble codes before (in the '97 OBDII system) but this car has the ability to get codes. I don't how to get the codes. I did notice both light flash on the ACC control module. The flashing only happened once, but the fan has failed several times. Would reading the codes let me know where the problem is? I don't like to chage parts without knowing what is wrong. How do I check for the A/C codes? Where can I find out what the codes mean?
