What impact has Ford had on Volvo? S70

Mostly positive.

In fact, the Volvo technology is "trickling-up" in Ford's mainstream 500, Freestyle, and Mercury Montego (S-80 platform).

Volvo was fortunate to have been bought by Ford rather than GM which has brand engineered SAAB to within an inch of its identity.

If Ford can keep Volvo's reliability ratings high, like it did with Jaguar, then the affiliation will be a very good thing.
