Weird Transmission Issue 850

So, today I got a flat tire. Being that I had to go to work, I switched out the busted tire with a full size spare that I keep with me. However, the tread on the spare is actually a bit more (larger) than the other tires. While I do know that this isn't generally a good idea, I will be replacing all tires in the next couple of days.

Here's the odd part: my transmission is shifting better than it has since I owned the car (about a year). I have no idea why this would be, just that I can't even FEEL shifts even though I see them happen on the tach. If it makes any difference the tire replaced was in the right rear.

Anyone know if there's any reason why this could happen? If it's something that I can fix (maybe the front engine mount or something?) then I would like to do it. I'm all for better shifting :)

Thanks in advance,

Jeff
