v70AWD1999

Hello fellow bricksters. I have a 99 v70AWD with a drive shaft problem. The front to rear driveshaft has a carrier bearing mounted near the middle of the drive shaft that is noisy and I have a vibration between the speeds of 38 to 46 mph. The front joint is sloppy and the carrier bearing is a non serviceable part, who came up with this design? I was shocked when I found out from the dealer that the driveshaft was 800.oo plus. I am looking for a rebuilder that can tackle the smaller of the two joints available that year and need the carrier bearing replaced as well. My local jobber has a company out in California that can only do the 44mm joint. I have the 38mm joint. Have any of you run into this problem and is there an alternative to the dealer rip off price. Thanks for all you help. Pauli
