brake light 850 1997

The bulb integrity light in those cars is usually pretty right on the money, are you sure that the 3rd brake light is not out? You probably have a bulb that is intermittantly working. Remember, the filament is nothing more than a spring in there. It will bounce around and make contact and not make contact and cause the integrity light to light up intermittantly. Also, the metal contacts for the 3rd brake light erode badly too. If you slide it off of it's pedestal where it mounts on the rear hat shelf you will see what I mean.
