Removing adhesive residue from dash??

HI,
Just performed some surgery on my wife`s 850 frozen lock glovebox. I used duct tape, aka gaff tape to protect the vinyl dash while I sawed away with the hacksaw blade. Surgery was successful but now there is adhesive residue from the duct tape left on the dash. My wife doesn`t think it is very attractive nor do I. What can I use to remove the adhesive without damaging the dash. Don`t want to risk damage to my wife`s car or I`m "toast"!
