selector switch 850 1996

Most likely the PNP switch has failed, it is a common problem.
If this is the problem, you may be able to get it going again by doing the ratchet cleaning.
Turn the key to position II without starting the engine, depress the brake pedal and the transmission selector lever release. Move the selector through all the gears at least 20 times.
Turn the key off, start the engine and see what happens.

What do you mean "how to overcome it without replacing new ones"?
