850R strut mounts/bushings 850

Hi all,
A question about my 850R's strut mounts and bushings. the driver side bushing and/or mount seems pretty shot, and the last mechanic i saw agreed with this. it has been making an increasing amount of noise driving around new york city's disgraceful excuse for roadways. there is a good deal of creaking and clunking now over every pot hole or sinkhole. i plan to replace the struts and mounts two weeks from now. my question: is it bad to keep driving the car as is? could i be doing any damage to the suspension? also, does anyone have a ballpark estimate of how much labor is to replace both struts and shocks?

thanks,

jeff
