Thanks for the link to volvospeed.com - I was not familiar with that site. The $28 wrench mentioned in the S80 oil change article (or its lower cost replacement) is now $6.25 at IPD.

Any thoughts on IPD oil filter inserts? I think I'll stick with the Volvo part at least until I'm off warranty.
