Why does the 850 drivers side wiper ALWAYS fail & not the..........?

Hi,
Just finished reading the postings on the "fixes" for the 850 wiper arm problem, some interesting solutions. As my wife`s 850 wagon has this affliction I`ll try a few of the approaches & resign myself to maybe buying a new arm if all else fails.
That said, why is it the driver`s side wiper that fails & never the passenger side(at least from I`ve read!).Both arms would have the same degree of tension/stress, huh? The passenger side has always worked as it should & the drivers side never has in the 5 years we`ve owned the car. My wife even took it in to the dealer & received the service reps response,"Well, its a high mileage car!". WHAT??????????? However, that is their response to everything that they seem incapable of repairing at this local dealership. At least, I got a good chuckle!
Curious!
