oil consumption increasing 850 1995

well my 850 na (90k miles) uses perhaps 1 ltr oil per 10,000 miles (for real) and at 6k the oil is starting to look vaguely coloured (not black)...

my 940t (140k) used to use aobut a litre every 150-200 miles and the oil went black muchos quickly...

I spent 3 years an heavy money trying to sort the 940 before i gave up and traded it....never figured it out but i can tell you this, it was BURNING it and the plugs looked just fine, compression tested within limits etc...

My point is it is only going to get worse and you could spent mega money trying to sort it so just get out while its running, looks fine and you can trade it for sensible money!

I would suspect that the milage may not have been strictly accurate when you bought it....if its pre-odb2 you can pull the milage the ECU thinks the engine has done via the tell tale led on the sockets...might be fun to do...
