Replacing rear shocks 850

I have noticed the following behavior in my '95 850T wagon (103,000 miles).

1.) Left rear sags 0.75"-1.00" relative to right rear side
2.) Inside of both rear tires are "scalloped"
3.) I "think" I can hear the rear tires "slapping" at highways speeds when hitting bumps.

Conclusion: replace rear shocks.
Choice of shock: Boge (OEM)
Reason: cheap bastard syndrome

Questions:

1.) When removing top shock mount from inside of luggage compartment, with the rear of the vehicle off the ground (wheels unsupported), won't the shock "pop" the mounts out and cause damage to the mechanic (i.e. ME)?

2.) Will the rear require realignment after replacing the shocks?

Thanks,

Phil
