hmmm your question poses me to think that you obviously have a reason for asking this, presumably the reason is that the old oil is seriously black....

now n my 850 i run 10000 mile oil changes and at that point hte oil on the dip stick is what i would describe as 'dark honey' - if yours is black i would sugegst that EITHER at some time the oil changes have been seriously missed (might be worth using a flushing addative) OR its an indicator of other issues...

my (ex) 945t went black very quickly and that certainly had other 'issues' - which i never could solve regardless of expense - in the end it came doewn to change the engine or the car...the car went!
