Good point...could just be a glitch in the contacts, and a good "whack" could help the contacts make contact again....just be careful...the plexiglass over the intstument panel will crack if whacked hard enough. Mine was cracked on my '94 by my indy (who was very apologetic by the way) when he repaired my A/C Evaporator and had to take the entire dash out.
