Vacuum leaks? P0172 Fault Code! S70 1998

I had a code - don't remember the number - regarding fuel mixture or trim. Car sometimes idled a little rough. The fresh air hose had several cracks. Put in new hose bought from dealer. Code has not returned in a year. I would not patch the hose as whatever is used might get loose and get sucked in under manifold vacuum. Also the hose needs to flex as the engine moves quite a bit as load is applied/removed.
