Cam position sensor replacement - Info anyone?

On my 850 to change the rear exhaust oil seal I just took off the cover then removed the central nut. The design was such that it stayed in alignment when put back on. I drew a sketch to make sure I would get everything back ok. It was no big deal. Did you get a code or other indication it was bad?
