94/850 headlight problem

I had a similar problem about a year ago. The headlights kept burning out. Only lasted 3 or 4 days and they would burn out. It turned out to be a bad voltage regulator. Something about bulbs not lasting long with 18 volts instead of the usual 12!!!!! I replaced the alternator (the voltage regulator is internal to the alternator) and all is well again. I bought a used alternator on ebay for $50. Much cheaper than going to the dealer.
