torque converter question 850 1994

I've always read that this takes at least 2 people and is a real bear, even with an engine lift and what Volvo calls a Transmission Fixture to get the heights right between the two. If you want a diagram I can send you one. Email me, but if you do, give me the model number and year, tranny type, turbo, etc. information so I'll remember to look at the right diagram. Good luck. I wouldn't dare "go with it," until you get everything just right.

Basically here are the instructions I have:
Use transmission fixture to adjust the height and angle. Fit transmission into engine. Reinstall screws (7 of them), and tighten alternately to a light pressure, then tighten the screws to 50Nm (37ft.Lbs). Note! Check carefully during the tightening that the guide sleeve located correctly in their guide holes and that the torque converter cover is contact with the engine before torque tightening. Remove the fixutre and hoist from the transmission. Now install the torque converter screws (New bolts Torx TX50) in the following way: Fit torque converter to carrier plate by turning engine with the crankshaft pulley nut. Then rotate the torque converter (accessible through cover opening. Loosely insert all six screws. Screw until heads are against the carrier plate. Torque to 35Nm (26ft. lbs). Use torx TX 50 socket (earlier models with TX40 must be changed to TX50). Remember to remove the socket wrench from the crankshaft. Then you lift the engine with transmission attached again, and install the rear engine mounting, etc. Hope I was on the right track for you. Seem the Transmission Fixture would make all the difference. It is part number #999-5463. If you're really stuck, you might want to consider buying one from Volvo, or they might even rent them...don't know.
