850 Crash

Thank God for air bags and seatbelts. From your description of the accident, the side air bag should not have deployed. And her wrist was probably broken fron the steering wheel air bag - a common problem.
Yes, she will be sore for about 3 weeks. Those muscles that tensed during impact did so with adrenalen and sore muscles take a while to stretch out again.
Your wife deserves a couple of Yoga classes, and a new Volvo! And lots of kisses on all those bruises :)
