My 1993 850. Saturday I started the engine. It started as it always does, I put the car in reverse, one second later it stalled and I haven't been able to re-start the car since. Prior to this, it has been running fine. I have spark at the plugs, there are NO DTCs at all. The fuel pump works (I can hear it in the trunk), there is gas present at the rail when the valve is depressed. My next move is to attach a gauge to the valve to check the pressure. It almost turns over when I crank it though. I'm stumped. The crankshaft and camshaft pulleys all move with the belt in unison too. Is there a cold-start device on this car? The camshaft position sensor was replaced about four-years ago by the previous owner for a no-start problem. I now have 126,000 miles on the car. I noticed my sparkplugs were blackened at the tips (only 5K miles on them) and smelled of gas (probably from cranking), but also had some oil on them too. I think the car may be running too rich (?)
