There are a lot of codes which will not turn on the CEL, as they require another matching error to set off the CEL. Sometimes, clearing the codes once a year or so will prevent strange CEL combinations.
What I mean to say is that not all stored codes are potential fixes. They are informative. Your SAS may have had a minor problem which went away, but the code is still stored. Do not throw good parts away, just because there is a code outstanding.
For a while, I was getting a misfire on cyl 4 which turns on the CEL. A fresh tank of gas cured it. Along with no longer going from full boost to no throttle while merging on the highway!
If your errror code comes back, think about how you were driving at the time and determine what else may have caused it.
