According to folks on this board, the Electronic Throttle Module (ETM)is an issue on the 1999-2002 models. If it breaks, the car is essentially undrivable. Its a dealer only repair to the tune of $1000+. However, I understand that Volvo Cars North America has a reimbursement program for this part.
