I am learning the hard way how bad struts are on these year model. Chances the dealer will end up rebuilding the entire strut for you and when they do, they will insist on having the other side done as well. If your strut inserts are in good shape, consider shopping online for the mount and the strut mount bushing as well and find a good mechanic you can trust around your volvo. These special-order parts are unlikely to be found in town in your mechanic should not risking taking thigs apart before these parts are on hand. Both of these parts should cost you around $110+S&H. You might consider the shop which can handle the job and do an alignment afterward, because you will need it once the struct is replaced. Best of luck
