S40 headlight problem S40-V40 2000

On the passenger side my headlights were quite a bit dimmer so I replaced the bulb (low beam); when the old bulb was removed, I noticed the connector was a bit melted on one of the prongs; it didn't help anything; no moisture or visible cracks in headlight; adjuster knob doesn't work; do I replace the entire headlight assembly? does it include the part that plugs into bulb?
