Read your and SIM's posts -- baffling! What exactly is happening here?
You shouldn't shut off the engine after you've started it and let it run for a few seconds? Do you happen to know why? Does the fuel pump and injectors get stuck running on and continue to flood the engine with fuel? The reason I'm speculating is that you said that you put a half-cup of oil down each (did you mean each, or total) spark plug hole -- were you trying to counter washed (with fuel) cylinder walls?
And SIM's running the starter as his solution -- that's classic for dealing with a flooded engine.
So what gives? There's no counterpart in 240's (which I'm used to).
Thanks.
