ETM Paper work S60 2001

I used to have an 01 S60 and ran into numerous ETM issues in 2003-4, getting the run-around from three dealerships not claiming they knew what was going on. Regardless if they were truthful or not, I eventually had enough (after stalling out at highway speed three times and getting stranded in my own garage twice and twice away from home) and sold the car.

I paid out-of-pocket for a new ETM but, since the dealers had no proof that the ETM is what was causing the trouble, I cut-bait and got a new car.

Can I get reimburse for my ETM replacement even though I no longer own the car? Would I follow the same procedure?
