Not sure about the time period but I've heard of people disconnecting the battery and hooking it up a trickle charger if they're away for a long time. Best to keep it in a garage so you can do this, or take the battery out and put it somewhere where you can do this. Others will chime in I'm sure. You'll need your radio code when you hook it back up in the car.
