Need help with dash lights on '98 S70 S70

Well, the service light isn't any big deal. You can take a piece of tape and cover it if you want. You can buy a reset tool on eBay if you want (look for Draper Volvo in the search)...I bought mine for about $60. The reset tool just reminds you that it's time to do an oil change (comes on every 5000 miles).

HOWEVER, the Check Engine Light (or CEL as we refer to it) is another matter. This means that something is wrong with your car, and it could be serious. I suggest going to an Autozone or PepBoys who will read the codes from your car for you to tell you why the light is on. Once you get the codes, write them down and then post them back here and we'll tell you what they mean. It could be something insignificant (like a loose gas cap) or it could be an 02 sensor, or a mariad of other more serious things...some that could spell a disaster to your car...So, just having the light turned off is not the solution.
