I read a similar post over on Swedespeed about failing spring seat bought from fcpgroton. Don't know why. Some suspect that groton just got a bad batch. Go to www.shox.com and send them an email or call them. They don't have them on their site, but they do sell spring seats. I bought mine there about a year ago and have not had any problems at all.
