I just did the timing belt change on a '99 X/C a week ago. The instructions on Bay 13 are for earlier models and there is some changes to the procedures. I had printed off Mitchell 1 instructions as well, and the combination served me pretty well, although neither was exactly right. Took about 3 hours in the driveway. I did the tensioner and idler replacement as well. Even though the bearings felt smooth, etc., when I got it back together the engine was quieter at idle. At 117k, I was considering a water pump replacement as well, but I decided against it after verifying that it was not weeping, etc. I did install a new auxillary drive belt.
