Dear Klaus, thank you very much. I tried this and just as you indicated, it is a lockout for the rear window switches. I did not find anything about this in the owners manual and thankfully I didn't start to check fuses, remove a switch or do anything else stupid that would have been unnecessary.
I really appreciate your response. Fred.
