timing belt replacement - to remove or not to remove the crank pulley V70-XC70 1998

Thanks for your response. I have already lined up a rental source for the impact wrench/compressor just in case. Tomorrow I think I will try it without removing the main pulley. If I run into difficulty, (thank goodness for my second car) I'll zip over to the rental shop. I am glad to know the main pulley is not necessarily frozen in place.

I also bought the cam locking tool from ipd (and the serpentine belt tool as well). This is good information.
