95 850 Turbo. 155,000 miles. I had an annoying clunk noise from my rear suspension. The noise came when going over bumps and was a loud metallic click clunk sound. Other advice said to check the spare wheel well for loose parts, check the top shock mount, bump stop boot, rear seat backs. I pulled the shock and it was good along with the mount. Shock appeared to be OEM, I compared it to a replacement from the parts store and deemed it was still good. I removed the spring and noticed a rock in the bottom spring seat. Reassembled all parts (minus the rock) and the noise was gone. To remove the spring bottom seat cap just jack the car so the wheel hangs and spring extends. Remove the 1 bolt holding the spring from the bottom and maybe you have the same problem as me. I pulled the trim panels and had my wife drive while I road in back feeling and listening for the sound. the shock was tight and the metallic sound came from just behind. It took several hours to find and fix this problem. At least it was free!!!
