Better not...others have done this and the car's security system is up in the contraption that the rearview mirror is in. Someone bought a new one and even a software download couldn't be found for it. Couldn't unlock or lock doors with the new one in and had to finally put the old one back in and still pay for a software download to get the old one to work again. Read about this over on another forum. You're stuck with the mirror housing, etc. you have, although you might be able to change the glass out to something else.
