RE: my 1993 850 GLT. I was driving this afternoon with the slider fan control in the off "0" position. Suddenly, the fan came on full blast and a small amount of smoke (burning plastic smell) came out of that slider button for a short amount of time. The AC does not work in this car. I noticed that both rocker switches for the AC and the recirculating air don't have any function now - meaning their amber lights don't illuminate. I don't think the direction of airflow (head to feet etc.) works either. So now I've got full blast air all the time. What happened? Is this fried completely? Is it a fuse internally? Is this common with these ECC units?
