Volvo says change at 100K but they can go much longer. I ran a Ford Windstar (I hate to admit it but we needed it for a wheelchair lift) with the origionals for 170K w/o a sign of a problem. Ran fine and fuel milage never varied. They tend to fail slowly anyway
