I'm amazed Volvo don't sell it in the US, it's very refined. I test drove an S60 D5 which had been chipped to just over 200BHP before buying the S80.
The engine feels much like a petrol, it revs freely with a broad power band. Fuel economy seems decent, the dash readout of historic fuel economy was reading 41 miles to the Gallon, or about 35 in US measurements.
The S80 I bought is standard and it really feels powerful, certainly not disappointing after my 940 SE Turbo petrol. It has all the bells and whistles, the only big items the original buyer seems to have not gone for is the inbuilt phone kit and the satnav, even went for both sunroof and airco. It has leather, memory seats, climate control.
It's frightening to consider though that in 43000 miles and 3 years it lost over 50% of it's new price!
